About John Weisenberger

Since 1987 I've been doing international business
with high technology manufacturing companies located all over the world. Some of the countries
I've visited include Germany, Japan, France, Italy, Belgium, United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico,
Dominican Republic, Korea, China and Singapore.

During my career I've sat on both sides of the negotiating table. At times I have been the customer negotiating with one of my international suppliers and at other times I have been the sales representative of a USA-based company trying to sell my products to my customers in other countries.

Throughout my years of experience I've learned that doing business with people from countries and cultures different than my own is a skill that most mid-level managers have not been adequately trained for.

This is because mid-level managers from most companies seldom have the opportunity to travel internationally, and when they do, it is only for short periods of time which does not allow them to truly understand the differences in business practices and processes.

I've also learned that it does not matter if you are a USA Purchasing Manager doing business with a new Russian supplier for the first time or a Korean Engineering Manager trying to understand the technical requirements of his new USA customer,
most mid-level managers need more international business training regardless of their nationality!

And if your company is trying to grow your business with American companies, your sales, marketing and engineering managers must all understand what it truly takes to win an American's business during today's difficult economic environment.

So why listen to me?

So what makes me qualified to teach your company and how will my training program help you grow your business with American companies?

Well to begin with, I am an American and I understand American business needs. In addition,
I've held positions as a New Product Development Engineering Manager, a High Technology Product
Marketing Manager, a Business Unit Manager and a Managing Director of various large and small businesses.

I've worked with multiple international companies
on new product development projects, merger & acquisition due diligence investigations, co-operative marketing campaigns, regional brand and distribution channel developments and the formation of long term strategic alliances and partnerships.

Examples of some of the types of projects I've worked on include the following:

* Assisted with the transfer/relocation of a USA-based manufacturing business to a newly formed Singapore business entity.

* Developed a China market growth strategy for an industrial controls product to deliver a growth CAGR of 36% over the target period which is 2X the market growth rate.

* Performed industry analysis to identify possible acquisitions or joint venture candidates; analyzed financial and non-financial performance indicators and trends and performed corporate peer group competitive benchmark analysis for a major automation company.

* Developed two high technology distributed control product lines using two joint German-American development teams.

* Developed a remote I/O product line using a joint Japanese-American development team.

* Expanded an UK-based online business into the Chinese market by setting up a localized version of its Website and brand.

Today as Managing Director of the Arcadium Group LLC (a Global Brand Management Consulting firm) I help international businesses position their brands for maximum success in the American Marketplace.

It is my passion for helping my international clients establish and grow their businesses in the United States that has lead me to develop my "10 Simple Rules For WINNING More Business with American Companies"  Training Program.
